

She was born June 24, 1920 in Woodland Township, Fulton County IL to Earl and Irma (Mayall) McMullen. She married Russell LeRoy Stear on September 23, 1939 in Peoria, IL. He passed away on October 6, 1999.
Surviving are one daughter, Karen (Pierce) Frels of Peoria; one grandson, Gregory (Karri) Dries of Glasford, IL; one granddaughter, Kimberly (Douglas) Kendall of Chillicothe, IL; three great-grandchildren, Brittney Dries, Katy Dries, and Jacqueline Kendall; one sister, Teresa Darlene Werts, of Virginia, IL; one brother, Earl Eugene McMullen of Farmington; one brother-in-law, Fred Velpel; and one sister-in-law, Alyce McMullen.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Harry Allan McMullen, Clifford Waldo McMullen, Lawrence Devere McMullen and George Lewis McMullen; and four sisters, Ruth Marie McMullen, Freida Lavern Velpel, Mary Ann English, and Wilmadene Sivilla Gale.
June worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company-Parts Dept. where she dipped tank parts into wax for shipment overseas during World War II. In 1964 she began working for Szold’s Department Store. She assumed the position of buyer and manager over the foundation department and became one of the few licensed corsetieres in the state of Illinois, retiring in 1985.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, September 7, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel.
