She was born on October 15, 1936 in Peoria to Lyle and Gladys (Bridgeman) Thomas. She married Roger K. Ledbetter on June 11, 1960 in Peoria. He survives.
Also surviving are her four children, Linda S. (Joe) Heuermann of Bartonville, Lyle K. (Tammi Jo) Ledbetter of Peoria, Brian Keith Ledbetter of Peoria and Greg (Julie) Ledbetter of Mackinaw; nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Jerry Thomas of Bartonville and Sandra Foster of Smithfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Garnet was a member of the Hanna City Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed playing pinochle with her lady's group, Fernwood Fems. She also enjoyed teaching neighborhood bible study in her backyard, hosting family holiday gatherings and the annual family wiener roast.
A funeral service will at 11 am on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Hanna City Presbyterian Church. Rev Dave Keithley will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Cottonwood Cemetery near Hanna City.
