

He was born August 30, 1927 in Peoria, Il to Frank and Margaret (Barker) Lockwood. He married Patricia Collier onApril 6, 1953 in Glasford, IL andshe preceded him in death on March 27, 2009 in Peoria. His parents, step father, Timothy Shea, five brothers, three sisters and one daughter, Stacy Foreaker also preceded him in death.
Heis survived byhis children: Joe (Amy) Lockwood of Peoria, Timothy Leroy Lockwood of Bartonville, Patricia (Ron) Test of Banner, IL, Nicki Lockwood of Green Valley, IL and Michael Gary ( Maria Ummel) Lockwood of East Peoria, one sister, Minnie (Fred) Gruss,seven grandchildren, Nathan, Tim, Tracy, Jennah, Billy, Tricia and Tiffany, andfifteen great grandchildren,
George served in both the U.SNavyduring WW IIand then with U.S. Armyduring the Korean War. He worked as a mechanic for 25 yrs with Walker and Werner and then as a Material Handler with Caterpillar until he retired. George was a loving father, who enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing.
A Celebration of Life service forGeorge will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday,October 5, 2012 with visitation one hour priorto the serviceat Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel.
Cremation will be accorded following the services and a burial of ashes will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria at a later date.
