Hugh "Ed" Hislope Jr.

Ed was born Aug. 28, 1954 in Peoria to Hugh E. and JoAnn (Wheeler) Hislope, Sr. He married Julia Carroll Dec. 15, 1973 in Bartonville. She survives along with two sons: Luke Hislope of Mapleton, Keith (Jennifer) Hislope of Round Lake, IL, one sister, Jody (Tom) Slater of Canton, one brother, Jim (Davonne) Hislope of Warrenton, MO, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Eric Hislope. Ed first worked for the Powerton Power Plant in Pekin for almost 20 years. Later, he was an Operator at the Duck Creek Ameren Station in Canton. He retired Dec. 2012. Ed coached Little League baseball from 1982 until the mid 1990’s. He also coached Limestone JFL. He was a member of the Lake Camelot Sportsmen’s Club, was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, and loved spending time outdoors fishing. Visitation will be Monday June 9, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Craig Hislope will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
