

He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Norma.
He was survived by his wife Linda Cline, his children Dawn Rendleman(Tony), Darron Birkel(Katie), and Dustin Birkel(Lindsey); Six grandchildren, Madison, Lauren, Baylon, Lucas, Bryce, and Bennett; and his siblings Judy Tinnon(Ed), Jeff Birkel(Susan), Jeri Holbrook(Tom), and John Birkel(Lori).
Jack served in the Navy from 1968 to 1974, serving in both Vietnam and Korea. He eventually retired after serving in the Bartonville Air National Guard Reserves. He was able to attend the Peoria Honor Flight on April 1st of 2025, where he continually reflected on the Welcome Home from the Bartonville community.
He was a member of the Limestone American Legion Post 979 where he was a past commander, the VFW 3883 in Bartonville, the Elks in Corinth, Mississippi, and the VFW 3962 in Corinth.
Jack worked at Keystone Steel and Wire for over 30 years eventually retiring to enjoy a life of leisure.
He enjoyed Fishing, Hunting, Camping and Travel. Near the end of Jack's life, he prioritized telling his children that he accepted Jesus as his Savior. In his final days his children were able to pray with him, which created tender lasting memories they will cherish forever.

Graveside Services will be held at Swan Lake Memory Gardens on December 12, 2025 with a Celebration of Life from 12-2 at the Limestone American Legion to follow.
