James Victor Fawley

Jim was born in Peoria to Cleo and Eabert Fawley. He married Irma Stelter on March 6, 1955.

His survivors include three daughters, Mary (Bill, deceased) Miller of Bartonville, Nancy (Jon) Holmes of Houston, TX, and Betsy (Jeff) Stout of Bloomington; one son, Steve (Laurie) Fawley of Bartonville; nine grandchildren, Mike (Sarah) Miller, Jake Miller, Ben Miller, Hannah (Lucas) Forsythe, Lauren Holmes, Zach (Amanda) Holmes, Kim Fawley, Tessa Holmes, and Bryan (Maddy) Fawley; six great-grandchildren; and one cousin, Jane Brookshire.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Irma of 62 years, and one sister, Frances Ragains.

Jim owned and operated Moser’s Shoe Store in Peoria for many years. He was a graduate of Manual Training School. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Merchant Marines and Army.

Jim liked to spend time with family and friends playing golf, shooting pool, and playing games. He will be remembered as a curious life long learner, with an easy going personality.

The family would like to thank his caregivers Joy and Angie. They would also like to thank Hallie and Willow Ridge Hospice for their care.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on Friday, February 16, 2024 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Burial of the urn will follow the service at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.

Memorial donations may be made to South Side Mission, the Children's Home, or the charity of your choice.
