

He was born Sept. 7, 1939 in Peoria to Elmer and Daisy (Tittle) Granneman. He married Mary Ann Osborn in Peoria on July 4, 1964. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Angela M. Perry, Jason J. (Stephanie) Granneman, Alan D. (Cindy) Granneman all of Bartonville; six grandchildren, Bradley James and Kathryn Ann Perry, Kevin Thomas James, Ashton, Carter, and Lauren Granneman; and two sisters, Bernice Claudin of Peoria and Sally K. Granneman of Anna.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Elmer Jones; sister, Constance Eberly; one infant sister, and his beloved cat, Wilbur.
Jim attended S.I.U. in Carbondale. He worked at Caterpillar Inc. in the photocopy, illustrations, and technical drawing departments retiring as an Information Integrator after 39 years of service.
He was a member of the Peoria Astronomical Society and loved science and the space program. He was also a member of the Midwest Gun Collectors Assoc. He was an expert photographer, liked to play golf and loved his cats, and tractors, especially the old tractor he was restoring with his children. He loved the environment, and promoted environmental awareness. His trees and garden were very special to him.
Jim was devoted to his family, wife, children and grandchildren. Sundays were special when the entire family gathered for one of mom’s delicious meals. He could make us laugh like no other. We loved to hear the stories of his youth. He was a loving father who taught us the value of family. Rest in peace our beloved father, you will be greatly missed and loved by us forever.
Private Services will be at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Entombment will be at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Peoria Astronomical Society or to T.A.P.S. in Pekin.
