He was born on August 9, 1943, in Peoria, the son of Otto and Mae (Birdoes) Krause. He married Iloe Marie Welte on August 20, 1966, in Peoria. She preceded him in death on April 4, 2018.
Surviving are his children, Troy (Lori) Krause, Ryan (Susie) Krause, Rhonda (Troy) Unkrich, and Delisa (Nick) Biggs; grandchildren, Braylan Unkrich, Jade Krause, Levi Krause, and Caleb Biggs; sisters, Barb (Merle) Allen, and Delores McCaddon; and 23 nieces, and nephews.
Jim was a graduate of Spalding Institute. He was employed by Keystone Steel and Wire Company for 42 years retiring in 2004. He was a Hollis Township Trustee, and Supervisor, and a dedicated member of the Tuscarora Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Chief for 20 years. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, American Legion Post 979, and Little Swan Lake Association. He had a great passion for motorcycles, fishing, hunting, and the outdoors.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023, from 4-7 PM at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Private entombment will take place at Resurrection Mausoleum on Monday. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church, or to the American Heart Association.
