Jerry W Nau, 75, of Peoria passed away at 6:50 am Saturday, June 10, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. He was born February 20, 1942 in Peoria the son of Edward and Marie Eden Nau. He married Linda Adams on February 14, 1963. Jerry is survived by his wife of 54 years; one daughter, Diane (Kevin) Buchanan of Morton; one son, Jerry Nau Jr. of Bartonville; five grandchildren, Brenna Nau, Stella Nau, Anissa Nau, Matthew Buchanan and Amanda Buchanan; two great-grandchildren, Brayton and Carmen; two brothers, Edward (Eleanor) Nau of Glasford, and William (Jan) Nau of Peoria; two sisters, Mary Lou (Bill) Haste of Pekin, and Rose (Roger) Isbell of Oquawka. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Nau. Jerry worked at Caterpillar Inc. as a machine repairman until his retirement in 1991. He was a Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion in Bartonville. Jerry coached several sports in the Bartonville area for over 30 years. Funeral services will be at 7 pm Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Visitation will be two hours prior to services. Cremation rites will be accorded. Coach Nau was a great guy, he coached one of my baseball teams in the summer of '85. He would always meet us and drive us to wherever the games or practices were. I think he loved being around the kids and never forgot us as we grew older, we never forgot him either. Rest in piece Coach.
