

On November 26, 1986, Jesse married Patricia in Peoria, cherishing nearly four decades of marriage and memories together.
He is survived by his children: Toby Cooper of Washington, Illinois; Chris Cooper of El Dorado, Arkansas; and Casey King of Peoria. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Samantha Carter of Peoria, Ashley Carter of Peoria, Emily Cooper of Pekin, Kasey Johnson of Denver, Colorado, Christopher Cooper of Columbus, Ohio, and Abigail King of Washington, as well as eight great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse R. King and Catherine R. Swearinger, and his wife Patricia. He is also survived by his brother, Fred (Debbie) King of East Peoria, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda Oldham and Diane Bailey.
Jesse enjoyed playing pool and bowling in his younger days. He loved working hard to provide for his family and himself, spending time with family, and spoiling his grandchildren. He always taught his family to work hard and how to get things done by themselves. Jesse was a huge Cubs and Bears fan and loved to travel, often taking his grandchildren to Florida.
He retired from Keystone after 46 years as a crane operator and in various other roles throughout the steel mill. Additionally, he owned several rental properties for over 40 years.
A celebration of life will be held on January 3, 2026 at 2 p.m. at the Independent Steelworkers union hall.
Memorials may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association.
