Jonathan Andrew “Jon” Browder, 55, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria surrounded by his loving family and best friend, Tim Maloney. He was born on March 30, 1963 in Peoria, Illinois to James “Jim” H. and Lucretia “Frankie” (Johnson) Browder. His parents preceded him in death along with his faithful companion Bandit.
He is survived by two brothers, James “Jamie” Browder II of Peoria and Joseph (Cindy Weiss) Browder of Denver, Colorado; one daughter, Sheila; five grandchildren and one great grandchild; five nieces, one nephew, four great nieces and two great nephews.
He worked for over 28 years as an operating engineer out of Local #649. He was a former member of the Bartonville American Legion Post #979. Jon enjoyed working on projects with his dad and other numerous hobbies. He was an avid hunter and fisherman enjoying time with his many friends. He enjoyed life to the fullest and his laughter and big smile was contagious.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Rev. Michael Jones will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:30 am Saturday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Bartonville. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
