Joyce Ann Zahner

Joyce Ann Zahner, 91, of Bartonville, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Carle Health Methodist Hospital. Born in Peoria, on April 4, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Theresa (Shatkus) Heitzman. On June 19, 1955, she married William Edward "BI" Zahner. He preceded her in death on October 25, 2024.

Survivors include three children, Julie (Jim) Roberts, William (Jody) Zahner, Jr., and Theresa (Phil) Blackburn; four grandchildren, Jerrad (Haley) Zahner, Kayleigh (Chad) Oates, Matthew (Kim) Blackburn, and Ryan (Jobi) Blackburn; nine great grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth (Sharon) Heitzman.

Joyce was a homemaker and dedicated her life to raising her family. Joyce had many joys in life. She had a deep love for entertaining friends and family, which always included delicious home cooked meals and fresh pies that will never be duplicated. She spent endless hours gardening and sharing her home grown produce with neighbors. Her talent with a needle and thread was unmatched. Going to garage sales was always a joy, looking for the next best find with friends, along with a good game of cards.

The family would like to thank Joni, Buffy, Ali, Zoe, Bille Jene, and Maddy for their compassionate care.
