Juel was born November 07, 1930 in Peoria to Louis R. and Mildred M. Modlin. She married Gerald Zimmerman on October 14, 1951. He survives. Juel is also survived by her daughters, Jill (Gordon) Meyers and Joanne Williamson, both of Bartonville, and Marianne (Max) Samp of Omak, WA; as well as one son, Stephen (Roni Jo Mullen) Zimmerman, of Peoria. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Richard “Dick”, James “Jim” and Jesse “Jack”.
Juel was a hard worker with a servant’s heart. She was blessed with many talents- painting ceramics, craft sewing and cooking. She lived her life giving to family and friends, usually in the form of one of her special dishes. Juel loved to work. Yard work was her favorite and she kept hers in park-like condition. She loved spending time with family and friends and wintering in Florida for 19 years.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
