

She was born June 3, 1945 in Peoria to Henry and Martha (Tompkins) Ezel. She married Pervy Ratchford who passed away in 1999. She later married Richard Bartell on March 6, 2004 in Peoria. He survives.
Also surviving are one niece Carly Ezel of Chicago, one nephew Douglas Ezel of Arkansas, and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Hank.
Karen was a Class of 1963 graduate of Limestone Community High School.
She worked many years as the business manager for her first husband’s trucking company. She later became an underwriter for many years at The Hartford Insurance Company where she retired.
Karen was an avid bowler. At one point in her life she was a member of three bowling leagues as well as participated in the Women’s State Championships. She also loved to cook and fish. She was also a NASCAR fan and member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bartonville.
A memorial service will be held at 3 P.M., Friday, September 30, 2011 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Pastor Eimo Hinrichs will officiate. Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. prior to services on Friday. Cremation will be accorded.
