Peoria- Kathleen “Kate” A. (Mooney) Rudebeck, 66, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Monday, March 12, 2018. Karl Eckhoff will officiate the celebration of life service at noon Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria, Il. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Kate was born in St. Louis, Mo., on May 1, 1951. There she met the love of her life, Tony Rudebeck, with whom she shared 47 wonderful years of marriage, and after seven months, is finally reunited with him in Heaven.
She is survived by her mother, Audrey Atkinson; two sons, Scott (Maureen) Rudebeck, and Joseph (Jennifer) Rudebeck; five grandchildren: Zachary, Tony, John, Luke, and Alayna, one brother, Terry; three sisters: Pat, Susan, and Kit; and a host of much loved in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
An active member in her church and a true servant of Christ, she taught Sunday School for over twenty-five years to God’s precious little children. She also selflessly volunteered countless hours at Christ Lutheran School.
A gifted cook and hostess, Kate truly encompassed what it meant to have a kind and welcoming spirit. Kate lived everyday for her Lord and loved her family and friends fiercely.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation be given to the Christ Lutheran School Adopt-a-Student-Fund, a mission close to her heart.
