He was born Oct. 2, 1931 in Yates City to Lee Roy and Margaret (Thurman) Ireton. He married Vada Ennis on Feb. 16, 1951 in Knoxville. She survives along with one daughter, Karen (Johnnie) Walker of East Peoria, one daughter-in-law, Kim Ireton of Wayland, IA, two granddaughters: Denise Ireton of Chicago, Samantha (Adam) Rose of Wayland, IA, two step-granddaughters: Doreen Musselman of Germantown Hills, Holly Brainard of Wichita, KS, two great-grandsons: Dean and Nolan Rose both of Wayland, IA, and four step-great-granddaughters: Nicole Musselman, Megan Musselman, Grace Brainard and Isabelle Brainard.
Tom worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 37 years retiring in 1981. He and Vada enjoyed camping and attending his granddaughters sporting events.
Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services at this time. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
