He was born Sep. 11, 1930 in Peoria to Orville and Christine (Keibach) Blair. They preceded him in death along with one son Michael Blair, and one sister, Shirley Olson.
Survivors include five children: Kim Lawson of Florida, Kevin Blair of Bartonville, Danny Blair of Peoria, Jennifer Bishop of Peoria, Amanda (Ray) Demaria of Peoria, nine grandchildren: Tara, Liv, Tiffany, Megan, Peyton, T.J., Erin, Nick, and Sean. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren and was very proud of the fact he was about to become a great-great-grandpa.
Kenny graduated from Manual High School and received a Bachelor’s of Science degree through Bradley University. He was a United States Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 46 years retiring in 1990. He was also a co-owner of the Pilot Club bar in Bartonville along with Chuck Terrell.
He was a member of the Bartonville American Legion Post 979, Peoria Elks Post 20, Peoria AMVETS, Bartonville Lions Club, and Peoria RiverPlex. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and his childhood dream of them winning the World Series came true in 2016. He enjoyed the Cubs Booster Fan Bus trips to Chicago with his best friend Bo. He was also a longtime season ticket holder for his alma mater Bradley University.
Kenny and Bo was very involved with the Limestone Little League and was part of the group that started the Limestone American Legion Baseball program in 1972. They were also responsible for the lights being installed at Limestone’s Joe Griffith Field.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a graveside service with Military Rites in Lutheran Cemetery followed by a celebration of Kenny’s life will be at a later date. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
