He was born to John William and Sophie Helene (Amaral) Wyman on September 21, 1944 in Newport, RI.
Kenneth spent his early youth in RI and eventually settled with his parents in the Peoria area. He served as a proud Marine from 1963 to 1967. Upon his return he began his career in the commercial roofing business. He eventually owned and operated Wyman Roofing and Sheet Metal INC. Retiring in December of 2017. Kenneth had a strong commitment to quality and excellence in his workmanship and attention to detail. This earned him the Carlisle Perfection Award five years in a row. The award is presented to the top five percent of the roofing companies in the country.
On July 19, 2008 he married the love of his life Dawn who was his perfect equal in strength and personality. Their favorite journey each year was their return to Newport, Rhode Island.
He was the quintessential Portuguese fisherman. He cherished his time on the water whether a lake or on the ocean. He had a linear way of thinking and could solve most any problem.
He loved spending time maintaining his yard and home. He was a huge fan of John Wayne and was very proud of his dark hair. Kenneth was especially fond of his miniature schnauzer Darby.
The greatest joys of his life, were his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Dawn, his sons Blake (Nicole) Wyman, Kort Wyman, daughters Marnie (Rich) Houlihan, and Holli (Kurt) Winckler, Lillian Barrett, and his brother Cecil (Diane) Wyman. Also survived are his grandchildren; Tanner, Dalton, Victoria, Natalie, Madison, Jessica, Christopher, Breanna, Gracie, Sophia, Benjamin, Sophie, Keyan, and Callia Jayne.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 15, 2018 12:00 pm at United Methodist Church in Bartonville with a visitation being held an hour prior, will be officiated by Rev. Nick Jordan.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors.
