He was born on November 11, 1959, in Peoria, the son of Oscar and Thora Smith Simmons.
Kent is survived by one brother, Mike (Sandie) Simmons of Bartonville; one sister, Sharon (Martin) Link of Bartonville; eleven nieces and nephews; twenty-six great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Patrick Simmons.
Kent was a member of Memorial Christian Church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Pastor Kathryn Frus will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
