

He was born March 14, 1947 in Peoria to Raymond and Susie (Inman) Phillips. He first married Jessie Todd Oct. 8, 1970 in Petersburg, IL He later married Diane Waldrop Nov. 4, 2001 in Peoria. She survives along with two daughters: Janna (Tony Pudik) Phillips of Bartonville, Jennifer (Joe) Eickmeier of Peoria, two sons: Larry (Tonna) Phillips of East Peoria, Jason (Tabatha) Phillips of Bartonville, one step-daughter, Trish (Jerry) Stewart of Pekin, one step-son, Roger Waldrop of Pekin, two sisters: Sharon E. Brown of Bartonville, Debbie (Jerry) West of Groveland, twelve grandchildren, one great-grandson, two nieces, two nephews, and his best friend, Paul Saeger.
Larry was a graduate of Limestone High School in 1965. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam from 1966 till an injury and his honorable discharge in 1968; he received a Purple Heart and was an Army Specialist Four.
He worked at Keystone Steel and Wire Co. in Bartonville for 15 years medically retiring in 1980.
He was a member of the Bartonville American Legion Post 979 and the Bartonville VFW Post 3883.
Larry had a farm in Canton and enjoyed hunting and fishing there with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Funeral services with Military Honors will be Monday July 27, 2015 at 3 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Pastor Justyn Smith will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until services at 3 p.m. Monday. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
