Laura Jane McCabe

Laura Jane McCabe, 88, of Peoria, Illinois, formerly of Bartonville and Central Florida, died Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Lutheran Hillside Village. She was born on February 26, 1925 in Elida, New Mexico. She was the daughter of Harold and Louise (Keil) Cameron. She married George McCabe on July 27, 1945 in Bartonville, Illinois. He survives.

She has two sons surviving, Michael (Barbara ) McCabe of Naples, Florida and Robert (Rhoda Colclasure ) McCabe of Germantown Hills, Illinois. She has five grandchildren, Shana Pinkston of Charleston, South Carolina, Andrew (Suvi Rayananonda) McCabe of Redwood City, California, Heather (Robert) Kneer of Dunlap, Illinois, Joshua McCabe of Peoria, Illinois, and Andrea McCabe of Chicago, Illinois and six great grandchildren.

Laura was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and was of the Methodist Faith. She worked over 30 years as a supervisor and manager at AT&T retiring in 1983. Laura loved playing Bridge and many other card games and Bingo.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Waters of Life Chapel at Lutheran Hillside Village, 6901 N. Galena Rd. in Peoria. The Rev. Paul Park will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday at the Chapel from 9:30 AM until 11:00 A. M. Entombment will be at a later date in the American Mausoleum. The Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Hillside Village.
