Though tiny, Dax was fierce—an active little boy from the very beginning, and a blessing felt sooner than most. He looked like a carbon copy of his dad, with his mom’s strong personality shining through even in the brief time he was here. Restless for ultrasounds and unwilling to sit still even when heart tones were checked, Dax earned his first nickname simply by being himself: “Mad Max.” In the love that surrounded him, Dax was, to those who held him close, an angel too perfect to stay on earth.
Dax’s family extends heartfelt gratitude to Affinity Women’s Health, the Women’s Care team at OSF, and OSF Maternal Fetal for the exceptional care provided.
Dax is lovingly remembered by his parents, Henry and Courtney Tjaden.
He is also remembered by his grandparents, Heather and Chris Scudder, Lanell and Roger Huber, and Steve and Eileen Tjaden; and by his great-grandparents, Carol Tjaden, and Joy and Gary Scudder.
He is further remembered by his aunts and uncles, Fayth Colvin, Zach Scudder, Joni Tjaden, and Tara and Slade Jewell, along with many great aunts and uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.
Dax was preceded in death by Great Grandpa Gerald Tjaden, Great Grandma Joan Legaspi, and Great Uncle Andy Legaspi.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to OSF Maternal-Fetal Department.
