Born Dec. 20, 1929 in Peoria to Henry and Anna (Lohrman) Cassens. She married Claude Wayne Prather on March 22, 1952 in Springfield, IL. He preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents; step-son, Michael; sister, Lucille; and brother, Henry.
Surviving are her daughter, Sue (Joseph) Sommer; son, Wayne (Deb) Prather; five grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Marilyn loved to quilt, work in her yard, and spend time with her family.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel in Bartonville. Visitation will be one hour before services at the chapel. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
