

Marilyn Marie “Tudy” Welton, 74, of Marquette Heights, Illinois, formerly of Bartonville, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Heartland of Peoria. She was born on November 17, 1942 in Peoria to Rudolph and Bernice (Mehle) Smith. She married Richard V. Welton on September 14, 1963 in Peoria. He survives.
She is also survived by four children, Richard Todd (Diane) Welton of Bartonville, Teresa Welton of West Peoria, Tammy (James) Zachman of Marquette Heights and Tony Welton of Bartonville; daughter-in-law, Kristen Welton of Peoria; six grandchildren, Drew (Christie) Zachman, Shawnie (Myjken) Zachman, Brice, James, Peyton and Isabella Welton; three great grandchildren, Lexi, Kylee and Tana. She has one brother surviving, Robert Smith of Peoria; one sister, Iola (Ron) Emery of Bartonville; one sister-in-law, Carol Sue Smith of Peoria. She has many nieces and nephews surviving. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren, Daniel James Welton and Noah Nathaniel Welton; one brother, Edward Smith and two sisters, Marlene Gailliaert and Darlene Stamps.
Marilyn was a self- employed beautician for several years in the Peoria area. She enjoyed being an election judge for many years. She loved attending sporting and musical events for her grandchildren over the years and spending time with her grandchildren and family members. She enjoyed fishing with her husband and grandchildren. Marilyn was a member of the Bradley Epworth United Methodist Church in Peoria.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Heartland of Peoria for their loving care and compassion during Marilyn’s illness, especially Rosie Collins and Christy Delaware.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Rev. Tom Eckhardt will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7pm Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Memorials may be made to the Children’s Hospital in Peoria at OSF.
