Peoria: Marion Hornung 92, of Peoria passed away at 1:02 a.m. on Monday May 6, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Marion was born December 17, 1920 in Hartford, Connecticut the daughter of Everett & Gladys Boynton Durkee. She married Harry (Whitie) Hornung on January 13, 1943 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on July 4, 2008.

She is survived by one son, Francis (Snap) (Susan) Hornung of Peoria; one daughter, Patricia (Gary) Harris of Peoria; two grandchildren, Brian (fiance' Kim Hess) Harris of Middeburg, OH, and Kevin (Danielle) Harris of Chillicothe; five great-grandchildren, Abigail, Aaron, Hailie, Aidan, Conner.

Marion was also preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and one brother.

She was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 8662 Auxilary where she served as President and Treasurer for many years.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Pastor Jack Thompson will officiate.,

Entombment will be in Chapel of Peace at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.

Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 979 in Bartonville.

It's hard to express how much we miss you in words. Knowing that you're in a better place with your loved ones helps lessen some of the pain. Your love and support was a constant comfort to your family. You taught us that family always come first. I'll always remember your love for hugs and the joy in your face when you saw your great children. Please embrace us in your arms as we lay you to rest. Always know that your memory will live on daily in our lives and that we love and miss your.
