Mark A.”Rudy” Johnson, 60, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away Monday, August 27, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 14, 1958 in Peoria, Illinois. He graduated from the Missouri Military Academy in Mexico, Missouri. He married Pat Bordwine on October 28, 1994 in Peoria, Illinois. She survives.
He is also survived by his parents, Leland and Shirley (Polhemus) Johnson; his birth mother, Betty Frosig; two children, Jennifer (Rick) Hunter and Christy Danner; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Chaz, Serenidy and Jordyn; one great grandson, Kaydain; five siblings, Daryl and Gary Johnson and Marla Kumpf, Mona Buhl and Mike Housenga.
Mark was a truck driver for over 25 years at Peoria Disposal Company retiring in 2015. He was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion. Mark loved making objects and buildings out of toothpicks which were treasured masterpieces. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Peoria.
Memorial services will be at 10 am Saturday, September 1, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Pastor William Dohle Jr. will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel.
