

Marvin was born on October 18, 1932 in Bartonville to John and Arline (Thomas) Gall, Jr. He married Betty Rose Jones on June 16, 1951 in Bartonville.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Betty; his three sons, Jeff (Denise) Gall of Bartonville, Steve (Vicki) Gall of Bartonville and Doug (Jean) Gall of Groveland; two grandsons, Justin Gall of Pekin and Kyle (Becky) Gall of Bartonville; two granddaughters, Tia Gall of Bartonville and Jamie Gall of East Peoria; and four great-grandsons, Tyler, Mason, and Aidan Gall of Bartonville and Hayden Gall of East Peoria. Also surviving are his brother, Rick (Paula) Gall of Canton; two brother-in-laws, Bill (Kay) Jones of Bartonville and Bob (Janette) Jones of Manito; two aunts, Gladys Thomas of Pekin and Elsie (Junior) Winston of Browning, IL; four nephews, one niece and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Marvin retired from Keystone Steel & Wire in November of 1992, after 40 years. Marvin and Betty Spent many happy years with their family and friends at their cabin on the Mississippi River. He was a sponsor member of Duck’s Unlimited, a lifetime member of the Mid-Illinois Retriever Club, the National Trapper Association and Illinois Trapper Association, a member of the Illinois Commercial Fishing Association and Delta Water Fowl Association. Marvin enjoyed all types of hunting, especially water fowl, fishing, trapping and gardening heirloom tomatoes. He gave back to nature by taking care of duck and goose nesters. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs, Bulls and Bears fan and BU fan.
Services will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 10:30am at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 5pm to 7pm as well as a half hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Rev. Ellen Dodd will be officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Bartonville. Marvin’s favorite attire, Camouflage, is welcomed for the services.
