

She was born April 11, 1949 in Freeport to Tom and Marguerite (Brauer) Rafferty. She attended Pecatonica schools graduating high school in 1967 and Illinois State University in 1971 with a degree in Elementary Education. There she met the love of her life, Allison Breedlove, marrying him on Nov. 27, 1971 in Pecatonica. He survives along with two sons: Chad (Stacie) Breedlove of Bartonville, Ryan Breedlove of Bartonville, two grandchildren: Beau and Britlyn Breedlove both of Bartonville, one sister, Vicki (Fred) Tuch of Woodridge, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
Lou was a school teacher for 31 years retiring in 2011. She taught Kindergarten at Hollis School District for the last 21 years of her career. Lou had a love for learning throughout her life, which she passed on to the countless children she taught. She always had a plan. She was a woman of strong faith and a genuine friend to all.
She was a very active member and volunteer at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bartonville. At St. Anthony’s she was a member of the St. Anthony’s Camerata Chorale Ecumenical and also sang with the Resurrection Choir.
Visitation will be Wednesday Feb. 22, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 3:30 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be Thursday Feb. 23, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bartonville. Additional visitation will be one half hour prior to the services on Thursday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Fr. David Heinz will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Pecatonica, IL on Friday Feb. 24, 2017 at 11 a.m.
