Nicholas "Nick" R. Bridges Sr.

Nicholas Raymond "Nick" Bridges, Sr., 72, of Hanna City, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the Graham Hospital ER in Canton. He was born on March 18, 1953 in Peoria, a son of Raymond and Betty June (Rynearson) Bridges. Nick married Sandra Gwendolyn "Sande" Mills on October 30, 1976 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on November 17, 2023 in Peoria.

He was also preceded in death by his father; and daughter, Kendra Bridges.

Nick is survived by mother, Betty Bridges of Canton; his four children, Craig (Tammy) Farrar of Hanna City, Nick Bridges, Jr. of Trivoli, Jennifer (Jerry) Gater of Galesburg, and Kristen (Brandon) Clauson of Trivoli; and his chosen daughter, Michelle Maccanelli of Farmington; 11 grandchildren, Rachel (Billy) Hibbs, Stephanie Farrar, Kylee Pyatt, Koda Clauson, Brittney McGee, Angie McGee, Kendra McGee, Breanna McGee, Qionna Hughes, Isaiah Hughes, and Rebecca (Jordan) McCance; several great-grandchildren; and one brother, Christopher (Lena) Bridges of Florida.

He was a graduate of Limestone High School, Class of 1971.

Nick worked as an insurance adjuster for State Farm Insurance for over 25 years. He then went to American Family Insurance, retiring in 2015.

He was a Master Mason of the AF & AM Lancaster Lodge #106 in Glasford.

Nick loved his Heineken and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nick will be missed by so many.

Nick's funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 16, 2025 at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. His visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm also on Friday at the funeral chapel. Burial will take place in Smithville Cemetery in rural Hanna City.
