He was born April 18, 1950 in Peoria to Clarence and Dorothy (Kuhlmann) Dornberger. They preceded him in death along with one nephew, Jeff Tankersley.
He married Shirley Schwindenhammer on April 8, 1973 in Peoria. She survives along with two daughters: Carrie Dornberger of Bartonville, Bethany Dornberger of Bartonville, two granddaughters: Lauren and Elizabeth Franklin both of Indiana, one brother, Paul (Sally) Dornberger of Geneva, Switzerland, one sister, Doris Dornberger of Lombard, IL, two nephew's: David (Teri) Tankersley of Villa Park, IL, Simon Dornberger of Switzerland, and one niece, Sarah Dornberger of Switzerland.
Ray was a Farmer his whole life in the Bartonville and Mapleton area. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Peoria then later and currently a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville. He was also a veteran of the Air National Guard in Peoria.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022 at 12 Noon at Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services. Cremation will be accorded following the services. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
