Rick was born on March 4, 1962, to Steve and Ruth Bock. He was a proud third-generation farmer who dedicated his life to farming corn and soybeans and continuing his family’s agricultural legacy.
Rick was known for being hardworking, dependable, and always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. His steady presence and strong work ethic were admired by all who knew him.
Outside of farming, Rick enjoyed spending time in his shop, taking fishing trips, and supporting his two grandsons, especially watching Jaxon play baseball, which brought him great pride and joy. He also enjoyed watching Storage Wars with Abery (Abe), creating special memories together.
Rick is survived by his loving children, Jami Wood (Adam) and Bradley Bock (Nathan Cambron). Rick was very proud of his two children and the lives they built. He was a proud grandfather to Jaxon and Abe Wood. He is also survived by his mother, Ruth Bock; his brother, Robert Bock (Laura); and his sister, Robin Boyd (Dave); along with many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Bock; and his brothers, Ron Bock and Russ Bock.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Asad and his care team, as well as the oncology and specialty care teams at OSF Healthcare Cancer Institute, for the compassionate care provided to Rick throughout his illness. Special thanks are also extended to his best friends, Brad Resler and Jeanne Wolford, for their continued support throughout this journey.
