Robert E. Emert

He was born Oct. 5, 1926 in Peoria to Ray and Ina (Masters) Emert. He married Georgia M. Roberts in Peoria on April 10, 1948. She preceded him in death in Sept. of 2004. He was also preceded by his parents, and one sister.

Surviving are three children, Robert R. (Deb) Emert of Pekin, Sherry (Steve) Harken of Peoria, Debra Kay (Skip) Schermerhorn of Pekin; 4 grandchildren, Kevin (Traci) Schermerhorn of IA, Brian (Brooke) Schermerhorn of VA, Eric (Mandy) Schermerhorn of Washington, IL, Carly Emert of Bartonville; 5 great grandchildren; and one sister, Jean Rae Pilcher of Sacramento, CA.

Robert worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 40 years, retiring Jan. 2, 1985. He was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville. He was also a member of the Peoria Elks Lodge #20, Verlin Showalter Masonic Lodge #1172 AF & AM in Bartonville, American Legion Post #979 in Bartonville, and Travel Protection Association.

Funeral Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel in Bartonville with Rev. Dr. Philip D. Lund officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Chapel. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Memorial donations may be made to his church or to donor’s choice.
