My sympathy to all of Z's family. Even in grade school, I knew he had components of a special person. Although we didn't keep in contact, I've never forgotten the boy we fondly named Z (more often than Bob). I will always remember him.

Robert Z was a gentleman, a patriot & a gallant warrior for his country.  Vlad only occasionally interacted with him on Twitter, but is grateful for the occasional discussions.  He was from the heart of America. What others call 'Fly-Over country.' The space where most folks are born, grow up, learn, become productive & raise families.  The Fly-Over country between NY & CA.  REAL America.  His family should be very VERY proud of him.  His wife, kids & grand-kids are in Vlad's thoughts & prayers.  May God Bless you all & offer you comfort.

So very sorry for your loss. Robert was a good friend and co-worker. I only knew him for a couple of years, but got to know him as a funny, intelligent, and likeable guy. He will be missed by all who knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I worked with Robert and his daughter Jessica for some period of time and became fond of them both. It's hard to believe he is gone, he was always hilarious and almost  seemed indestructible. Jessica, I'm so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers. God bless.

I misunderstood who it was that passed away. Ive only known Z for a few months & only on twitter. He was always intelligent and easy to talk to. A patriot and friend.

HE WILL BE UNABLE TO ATTEND "Z"'S FUNERAL, AND SENDS HIS CONDLENCES. WE KNOW THEY WERE CLOSE FRIENDS, EVEN WHILE SERVING THEIR COUNTRY.
