Roland L. Southey

Roland L. Southey, 82, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the Heritage Manor in Chillicothe. He was born on January 20, 1936 in Peoria, Illinois to John and Bertha (Harn) Southey. He married Gloria A. Lyons on April 4, 1964 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on November 6, 2018 in Chillicothe, Illinois. He is also preceded in death by one son, Raymond Holmes; one grandson, Brad McFall; three brothers and three sisters. He is survived by four children, Becky (Randy) Holmes-Gray of Memphis, Tennessee, Ronnie Southey of East Peoria, Illinois, Holly Southey of Peoria Heights, Illinois and Melissa (Curt) Hofmann of Varna, Illinois; ten grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Roland worked construction, maintenance and railroad construction most of his life, retiring in 2001. He attended Charter Oak Bible Church in Peoria. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Charter Oak Bible Church. The Rev. Roger Larson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior services on Monday at the church. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is handling arrangements.
