Shirley J. Meyers

Shirley J. Meyers, 84, of Bartonville, Illinois, died at 5:08 PM Wednesday, August 10, 2010 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. She was born August 31, 1926 in Farmington, Illinois. She was the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Clark) Stobaugh Sr.. She married Donald T. Meyers Sr. on November 9, 1968 in Peoria, Illinois. He survives, along with one daughter, Sheila Pfeifer and her husband John of Princeville, Illinois. She is survived by 3 step sons, Danny and Donald Meyers Jr. both of Peoria, and David (Brenda) Meyers of Elgin, Illinois. Six grandchildren, Mark and Whitney Pfeifer of Morton, Gregory and Gina Pfeifer of Andover, Minnesota, Kimberly of Elgin, Illinois, Sonny Wilcoxon of Las Vegas, Nevada, David Meyers of Elgin,Illinois, and Donald Meyer III. There are nine Great Grandchildren. She has three brothers surviving, Fred Stobaugh Jr. of Bartonville, Ralph Stobaugh of Pekin, and Donald Stobaugh of St. Louis, Missouri. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter (Jennifer), one great granddaughter (Katlyn Pfeifer) and one brother (Jerry Stobaugh).

Shirley worked for 33 years in the Bottling Division at Hiram Walker Distillery retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Hiram Walker Bowling League and a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Peoria.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 15, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Co-Pastor Stephen McKinney-Whitaker will officiate. A visitation will be one hour prior services on Monday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
