She was born October 25, 1929 in Springfield, IL to Stuart and Olive (Howell) Wahl. She married Edward “Ned” Venyak on June 12, 1949 in Peoria. He passed away March 23, 2018 in St David. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and one granddaughter, Rebecca Martis.
Survivors include one son, Steve (Shari Teal) Venyak of Pekin, one daughter, Kandy Venyak of St David, IL, six grandchildren: Michelle (Julie) Gaede Peters, Zack (Jenny) Venyak, Stacey (Ryan) Sweeney, Boyd Critz, Cory (Jessica) Martis, Collin Martis, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Shirley worked for Caterpillar, Inc. at the Morton Parts Division in Administration for over 30 years. She graduated from Manual High School in Peoria and was a lifetime member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Morton.
Private graveside services will be in Swan Like Memory Gardens in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the St David Nazarene Church.
