

She was born July 23, 1946 in Peoria to Nicholas E. and Mildred (Noble) Filzen. She married Derell Fleener on March 25, 1991 in Las Vegas. He passed away November 4, 2016 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one two week old infant brother, Nicholas Filzen, one sister Lou Filzen and another brother, Jack Rutherford.
Survivors include two sons: Jacob (Yhammy) Taylor of Destin, Florida, Jed (Christy) Taylor of Trivoli, 11 grandchildren: Brittni, Blaine, Brady, Chelsea, Raine, Cole, Ansherina , Ashley, Matt, Katie, Emily, numerous great-grandchildren, and one sister, Nickola Ballman of Bartonville.
Sue worked at Caterpillar, Inc in Administration. She was a member of St Ann Catholic Church and was a woman of strong faith toward the Lord.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at St Ann Catholic Church in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements. A celebration of Sue’s life will follow the services at Timber Lake Country Club in Peoria at 12 Noon.
Burial will be in Indiana at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to your local animal shelter.
