Theresa Heitzman

Theresa “Pat” Heitzman, 100, of Bartonville, Illinois, died Saturday, November 12, 2011 at her residence. She was born March 8, 1911 in Farmington, Illinois. She was the daughter of John and Anna (Molaski) Shatkus. She married Elmer Heitzman on October 28,1933 in Chicago, Illinois, he preceded her in death on March 1, 1994 in Bartonville. She is also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Theresa is survived by one son, Kenneth (Sharon) Heitzman of Bartonville, and one daughter, Joyce (William) Zahner also of Bartonville. She has four grandchildren, Julie ( Jimmie) Roberts, Bill (Jody) Zahner Jr. , Theresa (Phil) Blackburn, and Dan (Kim) Heitzman. She also has five great grandchildren, Matt (Kim) Blackburn, Ryan Blackburn, Jerrad Zahner, Kayleigh Zahner, and Lauren Kennedy.

Theresa was a former election judge in Bartonville, and was a member of the Lithuanian Society. She was a master gardener and loved her flowers and spent many hours canning vegetables and crocheting. She also bowled and square danced in the past. The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers that she had, Anne, Ashley, Barb, Hanna, Michelle, Valerie, and Velma.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Rev. Linda Richard will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at the Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
