Thomas B. Birkett

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Bruce “Tom” Birkett, age 74, of Peoria, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

He was born August 27, 1950 in Peoria to Don and Betty Birkett. Tom was a devoted husband to Pamela of 52 years, and a loving father to Jacob (Kellie) Birkett of Murfreesboro, NC, and Thad (Katie) Birkett of Bartonville. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one sister, Tobie (Steve) Mullen.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Barb Quenon, Becky Hurd, and one brother, Tim Birkett.

Tom was a United States Marine veteran where he earned the rank of Sargent.

He worked and wore many hats at Keystone Steel and Wire for 43 years before his retirement. He was known for being an avid upland bird hunter, fisherman, and a devoted Cubs fan, (he never missed a game). He loved his bird dogs and watching his boys and grandchildren participate in sports.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no public services. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is helping assist the family with arrangements.
