Trilla M. Johnston

Trilla M. Johnston, 98, of Bartonville, Illinois, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at the Unity Point\Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. She was born on October 22, 1917 in Heyworth, Illinois to Chester and Jennie (Frear) Roseman Sr. She first married John Dutton and he preceded her in death. She was later married to Harold Johnston on June 29, 1946 in Peoria. He preceded her in death in 1968 in Bartonville. She is also preceded by three sisters and one brother.

She is survived by two children, Richard (Shirley) Dutton of Bartonville and Frances (Donald Sr.) Majors of Peoria. She has four grandchildren, Vicki Canty, Alan Dutton, Don Majors Jr. and Craig Majors Sr. Trilla has six great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

She worked for the Armour Meat Packing Company, S and C Drug Store and the Commercial National Bank all in Peoria. She was a member of the Limestone Womens Democrat Club, Eagles Lodge, Armours Birthday Club and was a Girl Scout Leader. Trilla was always full of energy, never met a stranger, was quick with a joke and loved to dance.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Rev. Craig Hislope will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
