Vernon Earl Woosley

Vernon Earl Woosley, 91, of Mapleton, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at his home. He was born on March 24, 1934 in Peoria, a son of Floyd Woosley and Leta (Martin) Woosley. Vernon married Martha Ann Robley on July 1, 1953 in Lewistown. She preceded him in death on July 3, 2006 in Peoria.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; one infant daughter; one son, Danny Woosley; three brothers; and three sisters.

Vernon is survived by his two children, Bill (Judy) Woosley of Peoria, and Amy (David) Kellerstrass of Peoria; one daughter-in-law, Pam Woosley of Mapleton; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Carol Knight of Peoria.

He was a graduate of Manual Training Academy in Peoria.

Vernon served his country in the United States Navy.

He was the owner and operator of HarVeMer Builders, Inc. in Mapleton for 47 years, retiring in 2015.

Vernon was a member of the former Bartonville United Methodist Church, the Bartonville VFW Post #3883, and Limestone American Legion Post #979, Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Fame, Limestone Community High School Athletic Hall of Fame, 33 years on the Limestone Community High School District #310 School Board, serving 25 years as president, a founder of the Limestone JFL, Life-long member and past president of the Home Builders Association of Greater Peoria, and recipient of the Greater Peoria Honor Flight.

Vernon's visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Limestone High School - Vernon Woosley Gymnasium. His funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Rev. Dr. Alan Newhall will officiate. Burial will take place in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.

The family encourages guests to wear blue and white in honor of Vernon's love and support for Limestone.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Rides or a charity of the donor's choice.
