Vertie Delk

Vertie was born on July 10, 1938 to Otha and Ader (Bowden) Delk, in Tennessee. He married Janice Stanford on July 19, 1958.

Vertie is survived by two daughters; Janet Delk (Jack Aylward) of Peoria, IL, and Jada (Brad) Mosburg of Peoria, IL, Grandson; Billy (Shelley) Mosburg of Bartonville, IL, Grandaughter; Jena (Alex) Higdon of Peoria Heights, IL, one Great Granddaughter Jessica Mosburg, sister; Nola Pennycuff of Bartonville, IL, and brother; Luther Delk of Peoria, IL.

He is preceded in death by his wife; Janice, Parents, and 10 siblings; Woneda, Roxie, Frankie, Otha Jr., Clayton, Dee, Jean, Everett, Shelby, and Sheldon.

Vertie worked for Rohn Manufacturing, where he was the supervisor of the shipping department for over 40 years. He loved to be outdoors watching his garden grow, or fishing. He also enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith Show, and loved spending time with his family. He was recently baptized, and attended the Canton Church of Christ.

There will be no services held in Peoria for Vertie. A funeral service will be held at Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown, TN on Sunday May 25, at 2 PM. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery.
