She was born April 28, 1924 in Peoria to Samuel R. and Delores (Gray) Helms. She married Warner W. Pye, June 20, 1947 in Peoria. He survives along with three daughters: Cheri J. Davis of Pekin, Sandra K. (Donald) Smith of Hanover Park, Lori A. Benfield of Glasford, one son, David W. Pye of Glasford, one sister, Delores Hightower of Texas, a special nephew, Richard (Judy) Wyss of Glasford, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Joe and Raymond Helms, one sister, Betty Parsons, and a daughter-in-law, Donna Pye.
Funeral services will be Tuesday Aug. 19, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
