Bill was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Mary(Thompson) Hurst, his brother Ronald Hurst, as well as his son Steven and daughter in law Sharon(Fuson) Hurst.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his long time partner Char Devore, Daughter Lynette (Danny VonBehren) Mahieu, grandsons Ryne Meardy, Michael(Rachel) Meardy, Adam Hurst, great grandchildren, Teagan, Casen, Shae, and Taylor, as well as Eileen Hurst mother of his children.
Bill was an avid NASCAR fan, and he loved the St. Louis Cardinals and Alabama Football. He loved to be outdoors whether working in his yard or spending time fishing, hunting, or camping. He wanted nothing more than spending time and sharing a cold one with his family and friends.
He was a member of the American Legion post 979, the VFW post 3883, the Hanna City Sportsman's Club, The Moose Lodge 916 in Pekin IL, and the Peoria County Farm Bureau. He worked for over 40 years at J A Fritch & Sons and was part of the Sheet Metals Labor Union.
Bill was loved and cherished by family and friends, he never knew a stranger and was the best father one could ask for.
Visitation will be held at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel on Tuesday August 25th from 5 to 7 PM. Service will be the following Wednesday the 26th at 10am, there will be a graveside at Lutheran Cemetery to follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bartonville Fire Department or the American Legion Post 979.
