Aubrey Oneal Fountain

Aubrey Oneal Fountain, age 73 of the Carver Community, passed away on Sunday evening in Lewis-Gale Hospital, Salem, Virginia after a brief illness.
Aubrey was born on September 27, 1947 in Henry County to the late William B. Fountain and the late Georgianne Seay Fountain. He also was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Smith, Claudine Hylton, Vergie Fountain, four brothers, William C. Fountain, Samuel Fountain, Raymond Fountain and Major Fountain. He was a 1965 graduate of Carver High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Film Processing which is now known as Eastman. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church at Fieldale.
Mr. Fountain is survived his wife, Doretha Preston Fountaine, two stepsons; Eugene Hairston, William Lee Hairston and wife, Susan, one sister, Ann Craig, four grandchildren, Derrick Scales, William Hairston, Jr., Devin A. Hairston, Priscilla Ramos and three great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, August 6, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home Chapel, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, Virginia. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Carver Memorial Gardens with Military Rites to be conducted by the Martinsville-Henry County Veterans Honor Guard.
Due to Covid-19, wearing of face mask will be required at all times.
