

Blondena Shelton Rorrer, 89, of Collinsville, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at her residence. She was born in Mount Airy, NC, June 22, 1927 to Lee Hurley Shelton and Lillian Wagner Shelton. At one time, Mrs. Rorrer was employed by Appalachian Power Company and later she and her husband established Rorrer’s Oil Service where she served as vice president and secretary. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville and was also a member of Collinsville Lioness Club where she had served as president.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence W. (Dickie) Rorrer, Sr.; four sisters, Leotta S. Rakes, Reva S. Prillaman, Lessie S. Jessup and Barbara S. Patrick.
Surviving are three daughters, Cindy R. Warden of Salem, VA, Sandra R. Zanfini and husband, Joe of Murrell’s Inlet, SC and Susan R. Thacker and husband, Larry of Collinsville; one son, C. W. (Corky) Rorrer, Jr. of Alexandria, VA; one brother, John C. (Chuck) Shelton of Johnson City, TN; nine grandchildren, Michael H. Brown, Jr. (Deondra), Kelly Schulz, William Rorrer, Matt Warden, April Lents (Matt), Elizabeth Shortt (Cody), Megan Chilton, Christopher Rorrer, Melanie Eggleston (Mackenzie); great-grandchildren, Bailey Warden, Noah Dotson, Sophia Brown, Tyler Rorrer, and Logan Rorrer.

The family will receive friends Saturday, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Collins Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Collinsville with Pastor Larry Cheek officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
