Deborah Craig Walthall

Deborah Gay Craig Walthall, 56, of 165 Wingfield Orchard Road, Martinsville, died Tuesday, January 1, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Martinsville on October 1, 1957 to the late George Robert Craig and Callie Rosie Bennett Craig. She was retired after more than twenty years of services as an Inspector for Bassett-Walker Knitting Co. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Peggy Barbour, Shirley Newton and Ruby Ashley and three brothers, Roger and Ricky Craig and an infant brother, Howard Wayne Craig. Surviving are her husband, Thomas “Tommy” Walthall of the home, one daughter, Misty Marie Cobbler of Bassett, one son, Wesley Eugene Alverson of Bassett, step-daughter, Amanda Dawn Walthall of Bassett, five sisters, Judy Benfield and Brenda Faye Alverson both of Bassett, Patsy Hylton of Collinsville, Cathy Tatum of Stuart and Linda Craig of Bassett, two brothers, David and Michael Craig both of Bassett and seven grandchildren. A Celebration of life service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 4, 2013 in the Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Carson Williams Officiating, Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services in the Collins Funeral Home Chapel and other times at the home of her daughter, Misty at 445 Hales Fish Pond Road, Bassett, VA.
