Dianna Lynn Shively

Dianna was born on May 27th, 1957 in Martinsville, VA. She was raised in Spray, NC, and settled down in Axton, VA.

Dianna was talented and adventurous in many aspects of her life. She was a master of cooking, an avid gardener, and an amazing mother. When Dianna wasn't working or cooking, she could be found in her yard, pruning her roses. Not a day went by where Dianna didn't talk about how much her children and family meant to her -- her family was arguably her most important achievement in life.

Dianna is survived and missed by her loving husband Swanson Shively of 20 years; and her children, Lee (Tina) Owen of Bassett, VA, Jessica (Dennis) Snow of Bassett, VA, and Amanda (Joseph) Delello of Mocksville, NC. Forever cherished and remembered by her seven grandchildren, Zachary (Tori) Owen of Bassett, VA, Zach Robinette of Marietta, GA, Alex (Jasmine) Robinette of Fort Campbell, KY, Zayne Snow of Bassett, VA, Karson Snow of Bassett, VA, Tyler Delello of Mocksville, NC, and Mason Delello of Mocksville, NC. Siblings and their families; Richard (Hazel) Hopkins of Eden, NC, Margie Shively of Eden, NC, Nancy (Booker) Dishmon of Eden, NC, and April Shelton of Eden, NC.

Dianna was predeceased by her parents, Ernest Lee Hopkins and Margie “Polly” Pearl Cook Hopkins.

The private funeral service will be held at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home on Saturday, April 8th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
