Doris Joyce Bryant

Doris Joyce Bryant, 84, of Bassett, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville. She was born in Henry County, March 18, 1929 to Charlie Columbus Joyce and Edna Archie Joyce, both deceased.

She attended Tabernacle Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Cecil Bryant; one son, Donald Wayne Bryant; three brothers, Nelson, Billy and Clyde Joyce and one sister, Dellie Day.

Mrs. Bryant is survived by one daughter, Teresa Bryant Cardwell and husband, George of Patrick Springs; two sons, Douglas Allen Bryant and wife, Martha of Ashland, Kentucky, Ronald David Bryant and wife, Martha of Bassett; one daughter-in-law, Martha Newman Bryant of Bassett; five sisters, Belvie Mays, Betty Cline, Tiney Harold and Mable Young.

The Funeral service will be held Monday, December 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett with the Rev. David Towler officiating. Interment will follow in Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, one hour prior to the funeral service and other times at the home of Ronald Bryant.
