Dorothy Ann Rigney

Mrs. Dorothy Cassady Rigney, age 90 of Bassett, VA passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Stanleytown Health & Rehab. Mrs. Rigney was born on August 2, 1933 in Henry County, VA to Gilbert Ray Cassady, Sr. and Annie Bessie Holt Cassady. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Wayne Moore and wife, Jacqueline, two sisters, Thelma Cassady Woods, Georgia Marie Cassady, two brothers, Gilbert Ray Cassady, Jr. and James W. Cassady. She lived her entire life in Henry County where she was employed by Bassett Walker for many years until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bassett. Mrs. Rigney is survived by two daughters, Deborah L. Holt (Philip), Sandra K Holt, two sons, Gary A. Moore, Joseph W. Moore, one sister, Lois E. Turner, one brother, Bobby P. Cassady, three grandchildren, Angela D. Holt, Amanda G. Holt, Philip B. Holt II, three great grandchildren, Gabriel A. Holt, Lucas P. Holt and Alice L. Holt. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, VA with a Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 PM with Reverend Doug Ramsey and Mr. Monroe Light officiating.
